Electric train finally arrived in Sečovlje Salina Nature Park

Sečovlje Salina Nature Park has a new acquisition: the long-awaited electric train has finally  been delivered. The electric train was purchased in the frame of the project CARS-OUT! Electric train consists of a tractor and two trailers for the transport of 56 passengers. The value of the train is € 280,000 + VAT.. The vehicle is electrically powered, with the additional help of solar panels. The entire composition was manufactured in the Netherlands. Wednesday, 26th October 2016 we organised the final CARS-OUT! press conference where we presented the results of the project. The guests present (journalists and other invited guests) were shown the 20 min CARS-OUT! film, the new project infrastructure and the most interesting part..the first official ride with the new electric train.      ...

FINAL EVENT for NOR and EEA Financial mechanisms 2009-2014

On Friday, 7 October 2016, we attended the final event for the NOR and EEA financial mechanisms ‘’Working Together Towards Common Goals’’ which was held in Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana. 29 million euros under the EEA (European and Economic Area) and Norway Grants enabled the country to launch and complete over 120 projects in the areas of scholarships and mobility, NGOs, public health, gender equality, biodiversity and ecosystem services, conservation and revitalisation of natural and cultural heritage and the environment in the last few years....

Cars-Out! Survey

Dear visitor, In the frame of the project CARS-OUT! new trails will be constructed and environmentally friendly means of transport will be purchased for ‘’greener’’ visitation of the park . In the future, motorized vehicles in the Park, except for the salt-making activities, service and emergency rides and management of the park and the museum, will no longer be possible.
